Day 131
01.48am
Early to bed, early to rise.
I slept around 9pm last night and have just awoken.
I read and eventually slept again about 4am.
6.57am and I am awake. I dash, well slow dash because my dashing days are over, to the bathroom due to urgent matters of nature. I shower, brush teeth and saunter back to my jail cell.
I drink the last of my water, dress and mooch along to Thai Huot Market to buy the recommended ingredients to eat whilst having an upset tummy - bananas, bio yogurt, rice, chicken, ginger and 3 bottles of water, each 1.5lt. It's not advisable to drink tap water here as it leaves a brown residue wherever it's left.
I get back and immediately eat a pot of bio yogurt with a crushed banana, swished down with water, then take Imodium and the Orasel.
I wash the rice and start to cook it as a congee (rice porridge) in plenty of water with cut chicken and fresh ginger. Later I add a chicken cube, sesame oil and 5 spice for flavour, stir and wait. I'll probably need to have this with light soy sauce. Well, we shall see….
I am supposed to attend a funeral in Siem Reap today, but am really not up to it. I will be there in spirit
I take the chicken congee for lunch and dinner. It's okay, but as soon as I can I'm going to splash out on a pizza, rosé and tiramisu at Mama Shop. After I extract from the ATM that is. Funds are getting low.
Tonight the water is off. I engage Kosal and Narak to investigate. After some minutes it's back on again. I was worried because of my tummy problem. So fingers crossed and touching white painted wood, there is water for the time being. Then the electricity went off. Four months plus living in Cambodia is certainly an experience.
