82 days here
I am awake at 6.20am
If I wasn’t already awake, I would certainly have been awoken by the ‘renovations’ going on in the next building. It’s like a bad day at the dentists. There drills and electric saws, as well as intermittent hammering from 7am onwards. Oh joy!
Breakfast in front of the computer is a prosaic banana sandwich and a mug of ‘Red’ to the tune of knock, knock, knock, bang, bang, bang, zzzz, zzzz, zzzz.
I have managed to complete another section of the magazine, but sharing a computer is not ideal when you need to get work done. Already artists are asking when the magazine is due, but this is out of my hands. Researching, preparing for three classes as well as producing The Blue Lotus magazine does mean that I need a lot of computer time. But the computer is not mine, and belongs to Colors of Cambodia. Sadly there is nothing I can do for the magazine on my hand phone.
I am pleasantly surprised when a tray of chicken soup and rice is left out for my lunch. It has saved me some money. Many thanks to Phany, yet again. She is so kind and thoughtful.
After lunch I go to Thai Huot Market and get the provisions I need for the next two days. While at the supermarket, I look in the freezer for ideas for Sunday's lunch. Meat is expensive, that is a problem. I should like to cook Chili Con Carne but beef is dear. There is lamb in the freezer, but that is more expensive than beef. Duck is there too, and fillets of the white fish Dory. I have tomorrow to think it over.
Decision made. Pan dry fried Dory fingers, potato salad with coriander and local mint, cut tomato and cucumber fried in olive oil, butter, garlic and white and black pepper.
Today's spend
Thai Huot Market...Myojo Soto Ayam x4; Dutchie Mixed Fruit Yogurt x2; Dutchie Corn Beans Yogurt x2; Kerrygold butter; Happy Cow Sliced Mozzarella Cheese; Coca Cola x2; Milk Soft Bread; Chicken Egg Banana; Dasani Water x2 and Globe Milk Whole Milk.
Total spend…$18.70
