April 6th
I’m
awake at 6am, again. I take this opportunity of being alone in the
building to wash the dishes from last night, and leave them in the
kitchen.
I
use the last three small bananas with four slices of bread, and that
thing which isn’t butter but has high aspirations to be such, to form
banana sandwiches for breakfast. I finished the eggs yesterday.
I
scooted along to the Thai Huot Market and scored.....Farmhouse Milk;
Khmer Fresh Chilli; Maggi Bouillon Volaille (seasoning cubes); Vivien
Paille Lenttilles Blondes; Unsweetened Yogurt; Blacl Mustard Seeds;
Fresh Turmeric; Fresh Ginger; Fresh Shrimp, Baby Potatoes; Carrot (one
large one); Dettol Hand Sanitiser; Kerrygold Pure Irish Salted Butter
(yes, real butter); Gluten Free Pitta Bread; 3 x 1.5ml Water; 330 ml of
Anchor Beer and 330ml of Cola Coffee. Total horrific cost $36.25
Dhal is duly made and eaten twice, lunch and dinner.
My
visa ends on the 16th April. Phany said that she would check with a
Travel Agent friend about an extension, for I did not realise that Khmer
New Year is next week
